Stay in Style Above the Dorset Hills

Lovely stay! Snowdrop Cottage isideally situated in the heart of Shaftesbury adjacent to Trinity church andchurchyard, where there is a dedicated parking space for cottage guests. It isunusual in being an ‘upside-down’ house, with bedroom and bathroom downstairsand lounge/kitchen upstairs. Access is by a key safe for the external door, andtouch key pad for the inner door, both of which were problem-free. The wholeplace was immaculate and perfectly clean, with excellent decor throughout, andwell appointed with good attention to detail. There is a very generous doublebed which can be configured into two singles, depending on your requirements.Sophie had thoughtfully provided a welcome pack including fresh local milk andbread, and some chocolate treats! Living there for three days was a pleasure:the heating is simply controlled by a thermostat on the upper landing and theradiators respond quickly: the shower is efficient, and (two pluses in my book)there are spacious shower shelves and a non-slip floor! Sophie could be readilycontacted and was quickly responsive. Shaftesbury town itself is of greathistorical interest with lots to see, plenty of little shops including anartisan bread shop just round the corner, and bigger shops including a Tescoand a Lidl.

My wife and I would certainly be veryhappy to be guests at Snowdrop Cottage again, at any time of year, and woulddefinitely recommend Sophie as a host. We stayed during heavily rainy weatherin February, but when snuggled in the cottage it didn’t matter - and in factthis is the premier time of year for the snowdrops for which Shaftesbury isfamous and after which the cottage is named, and which abound in the churchyardopposite.

You can really tell how much love has gone into creating this space. Every detail felt considered, and the whole cottage was spotless. We appreciated being so close to cafés and shops, but also having a peaceful lane to retreat to. Highly recommend.

From the moment we walked in, it felt welcoming and warm. The kitchen was beautifully equipped, and the bedroom was incredibly cosy. The location is perfect for exploring Shaftesbury and the countryside. We will definitely be booking again.
